Cascade Paddle Boards rents stand up paddleboards from the Jantzen Fuel Depot dock on Hayden Island, Portland, right on the Columbia River. A board, paddle, fin, leash, life vest and dry bag are included for $35 per 2 hours or $50 per 4 hours, with no deposit required.

Stand up paddling from the dock

You launch straight from the Jantzen Fuel Depot dock on Hayden Island.

The hybrid board works as a stand up paddleboard. Prefer to sit instead of stand? Ask at the shop about using it as a kayak.

Rates and what's included

Rentals are $35 for 2 hours or $50 for 4 hours. Hard boards are available on request at the same price as the hybrid board.

Every rental includes the same gear, and there's no deposit. We keep a card on file and may charge it for the value of the board if needed.

Taking a board off the dock

Hard and hybrid boards stay at the dock. If you want to take a board home or further afield, we rent inflatable paddleboards for $75 per 24 hours. Off-site rentals only. Longer terms by request.

Who can rent

Renters must be 18 or older. Anyone under 18 needs to be with an adult, and riders must be at least 12. The weight limit is 275 lbs per board.

Rental hours

The last rental goes out 3 hours before we close, and boards are due back 1 hour before closing. Hours change by season, so call ahead to confirm today's hours and board availability.

Where to paddle

Stay within North Portland Harbor for the whole trip. Head upriver first, so the current helps bring you back to the dock instead of working against you on the way home.

Sign the waiver, then pick up your board

Every renter signs a waiver at the shop before heading out. Scan the QR code on the flyer at the shop to sign it.

Parking and pickup

Park at 12050 N Jantzen Dr, the Navigator Coffee lot. Walk down to the floating dock at 12010 N Jantzen Dr, the green building with yellow trim, to pick up your board.
